lyrics
Out over the windy moor
Chilly vapours rise
From the sodden soil to air
Diaphanous the skies
Rising into the blue
See your body fall below
Black with hair an orange hue
Buried where the north winds blow
From the damp earth to the sun
Ever since the world began
The spirit’s been escaping
Like a rabbit on the run from a bullet from a gun
From the form that it was shaped in
Take to flight upon these wings
Hover over everything
Ride the whimbrel through the fog
To the goddess of the bog
In the rushes, reeds and grass
The bunting tries to hide
Through the rust of armour past
From those on the other side
On the roof of the underground
Far above their leaking halls
There are bubbles without sound
They are signalling their calls
From the damp earth to the sun
Ever since the world began
The spirit’s been escaping
Like a rabbit on the run from a bullet from a gun
From the form that it was shaped in
Take to flight upon these wings
Hover over everything
Ride the whimbrel through the fog
To the goddess of the bog
Wacthing from the thicket as your body is unearthed
Your spirit’s perched and not besmirched
Out of reach of human search
Ride astride the whimbrel to the cauldron of rebirth
Take to flight upon these wings
Hover over everything
Ride the whimbrel through the fog
To the goddess of the bog
Take to flight upon these wings
Hover over everything
Ride the whimbrel through the fog
To the goddess of the bog

This might be the least folky of the Wobbler releases and I wasn't sure about it at all.
After a few listens however I'm loving the inventiveness and the endless melodies, all driven along by Kristian Hultgren's wonderful percussive bass. PartTimeZombie
